The passenger funicular at the Baoquan Tourist Area in Huixian, Henan, successfully completed its acception inspection by the National Center of Passenger Aerial Ropeway Safety Supervision and Inspection on November 13, 2023. This funicular is the result of an investment and construction initiative by Henan Baoquan Tourism Co., Ltd., with its design and manufacturing implemented by Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute Co., Ltd. (BMH).
The Baoquan Tourist Area passenger funicular features a horizontal length of 175.107 meters and a vertical rise of 58.512 meters, with a maximum run speed of 3.5 meters per second. It includes a carriage that holds 35+1 passengers and offers a one-way capacity of 410 passengers per hour (PPH). This funicular represents BMH’s first design to successfully implement curved mainline operations.
Located in Huixian County-Level City, Henan Province, the Baoquan Tourist Aera is a national forest reserve and a reserve for Taihang macaques, offering an ideal setting for leisure, holidays, water-based activities, and summer escapes. Nestled in an important location within the Taihang Mountains, the tourist area features an impressive combination of grand canyons, steep cliffs, and majestic mountains and waters. Youlong Gorge is marked by its striking red rock cliffs and criss-cross ravines and gullies, while the waters of Baquan Lake ripple gently, offering an expansive view. The tourist area’s unique Zhangshiyan cliff fault landforms have resulted in an impressive and dense array of waterfalls in the Taihang Mountains. The myriad shapes of the waterfalls collectively form the Chinese Valley of Thousand Waterfalls, a true spectacle of the Taihang region.
By harnessing the strengths of SINOMACH to serve the nation’s needs and create a national brand, BMH, the hallmark of China’s ropeways, is always on the move!
