--BMH has successfully completed its 129th detachable ropeway
The renovation project for the Qianzhangyan, 6-MGD, Xikou, Zhejiang Province (hereinafter known as the "Xikou ropeway") successfully completed its acceptance inspection by the National Center of Passenger Aerial Ropeway Safety Supervision and Inspection on April 25, 2024. The Xikou ropeway was built by Ningbo Xikou Tourism Development Co., Ltd. and designed and manufactured by Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as "BMH").
In 2009, BMH developed the first detachable ropeway in Xikou with its own intellectual property rights in China, breaking the monopoly held by foreign companies in this field and marking a new chapter for BMH's ropeway projects. As of May 2023, the Xikou ropeway has been safely operational for 15 years, managed by the outstanding operations team of Ningbo Xikou Tourism Development Co., Ltd. In anticipation of the Sixth World Buddhist Forum, the Xikou ropeway commenced its renovation and upgrade. The renovated Xikou ropeway measures 450.89 meters in horizontal length and has a vertical rise of 221.25 meters. It features six pylons and is designed to operate at a run speed of 5 meters per second, with a one-way capacity of 2,000 passengers per hour (PPH). On April 25, 2024, the Xikou ropeway's renovation and upgrade were completed, evolving from the first detachable ropeway manufactured by BMH to now being its 129th ropeway in operation.
The Xikou ropeway is positioned within the Mount Xuedou Scenic Area. Mount Xuedou is a nationally recognized scenic area, a national forest park, and a 5A-rated tourist attraction. It holds the designation of a provincial-level cultural heritage ecological conservation area in Zhejiang Province and is known as the "No. 1 Ridge of Siming Mountain." Furthermore, it is one of China's five notable Buddhist mountains, recognized as the place of worship for Maitreya Buddha. The scenic area centers around the ancient Xuedou Temple and the Qianzhangyan Waterfall, surrounded by a stunning array of peaks. To the east are Wulei Peak, Suoluo Peak, and Dongcui Peak; to the west lies Pingfeng Mountain; to the south are Tianma Peak and Cuiluan Peak; and to the southwest are Xiangbi Peak, Shisun Peak, and Rufeng Peak. At the center is a broad flat ground, interspersed with paths crisscrossed in the fields and characterized by picturesque mountains and waters, along with a favorable climate. Key attractions include the Qianzhangyan Waterfall, Miaogao Terrace, the cliffs of Xufu Rock, the Shanglianggang Forest Sea, and the Sanyin Pond Waterfall.
